About TRIP
The Transportation Research Immersive Program (TRIP) aims to provide students the opportunity to explore engineering through the lens of transportation, giving students skills and knowledge to successfully pursue a degree in civil engineering.
TRIP is one-week long and full of learning activities. The program is set to begin Monday June 17, and run through Friday June 21, 2024. Each day will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Students will be provided with lunch every day of the program.
Activities will be hosted mostly on the UTEP campus with field trips to partnering transportation facilities throughout the city of El Paso. Faculty researchers, graduate students and expert staff members will facilitate the week of R1 research and real-world activities.
Students who should apply to TRIP include:
- El Paso Community College students
- Rising junior and senior level Early College High School students who are taking dual credit courses
Eligible students will receive a stipend for their participation in the amount of $150.
